Usually because you are experiencing difficulties and distress in your life or you may be feeling anxious or depressed. It is usually easier to talk about personal, family, or relationship issues with a person who is independent of friends and family.
You may have experienced life issues and events which you may have found very difficult to deal with, for example; bereavement, divorce, redundancy, health, bullying and so on.
However, you do not have to be in a crisis or on the verge of one before choosing to have counselling, as it can be an opportunity to implement a plan which may prevent a crisis from happening.
You may be experiencing feelings of dissatisfaction with your life in general, or be seeking balance in your life.
